Selling on the Net

Greetings
    I always enjoy this forum, plenty of good  info and URL's to a 
lot of interesting IR galleries on the web. It's great to see what 
others are doing. It does raise a question though, " Does selling 
your work over the internet work?" Several IR galleries have a line 
about purchasing prints. I would be interested to hear from others as 
to whether or not they have actually sold any of their work or maybe 
gotten an assignment due to a client seeing their work on the 
internet. It would be nice if it was broken down into pro vs. amateur.
