I don't botther with Infrared focus adjustments with the Konica. Stick to wider lenses and F8 or F11 to be safe. Try a deep red filter, Red #29 to get a nice effect but no, it won't be like the Kodak.
Go buy some of the Kodak HIE and use your 28-200 at the wider settings, shoot at F11 and F16 and you should be fine. Most Canon lenses have IR markings and I'll take your word about the Tamrons not having this info. Perhaps call Tamron for help about focusing their lenses on your A2 for infrared film. Also, remember that the infrared film sensors in your A2 will fog one set of sprockets so you will see a line on contact sheets that hits right up to the image area.

Oh, the Red #29 will also work great with the Kodak B&W Infrared
