I have to agree with Nelson's advice to not try metering through
the lens.  I've shot about 50 rolls of HIE in the past three years
and I've always done it exactly as recommended by Kodak: 1/125th
at f/11 through a #25 filter (this will give you the same exposure
as Nelson's recommendation of 1/60th at f/16).  Then bracket to be
safe.

As I said before, I've taken over 1000 exposures on HIE (probably
not as many as some other people on this list) using this formula, 
and I've probably had no more than one dozen exposed wrong.

If you really want to use TTL metering with HIE, you could adjust
your film ASA until the TTL (through a #25) gives you a reading of
1/125th at f/11.  That would get you close.

Don't forget to let us see your first set of successful IR shots.
