Nelson and Andy's advice about metering is spot on. You will find some
information in the Infrared FAQ about shooting Kodak HIE without using a
meter (URL in sig. file). I would recommend f11 and wider for a 35mm camera
to avoid the effects of diffraction at smaller apertures. Diffraction
effects are greater when recording mainly infrared light.
You may also be interested in a table in the infrared FAQ where I have
worked out the equivalent ASA rating for various infrared films using the
range of infrared filters currently available. 'Section 13.Exposing - Film
Speeds and Rating for Filters.'
