Least inexpensive route for opaque IR

I've been playing with HIE and EIR for a year now, and have gotten
reasonably comfortable using both through normal filters (red,
yellow, etc). Now I'd like to try an opaque IR filter or two, but
have been surprised at how expensive the screw on filters are
compared to "normal" filters.

What's the most economical way to get into opaque filtering?
