Developing 4x5

My developing tank is designed to hold 12 sheets of film and use about
1700 ml of chemicals, which is a lot.  That's fine if I have 10 or 12
sheets of film, but with IR you are always trying new things.  I am
looking for a way to develope 2 to 4 sheets at a time without using 1700
ml each time.  What do you guys do?
