Back to the black spot issue

I was very disapointed when
I got in the darkroom last night to print and discovered all of my negs have
these spots on them. i remembered the thread going on here and went back and
read more about the problem.
I don't do my own film, I have a pro lab that I have been taking all of the
IR
to, and have had beautiful results. They do the film by hand according to
kodaks
specifications.
Was the conclusion that the spots are caused by air bubbles? I would love to
have a bit of info behind me before I go in there and hear their version on
what
might have happened.

Dear Heather,
I looked at your small jpeg images and the regular shaped dark spots appear
to be caused by air bubbles. HIE is much more prone to retaining these air
bells than other film.
Don Bryant's statement that the defects are from manufacturing
is incorrect. Kodak had a longstanding problem with 4x5 sheetfilm (now
discontinued), and for a period with 35mm HIE. But the problem can only be
described as "pinholes" not the craters your film shows.
Tell the lab they have to do more initial agitation to dislodge the bubbles.
