Since the MACO film is equipped with an anti-halation layer, there will
be no problems with structured backplates. I shot some rolls of MACO IR
in a Canon EOS 500N (US Rebel XS). This camera's pressure plate isn't
only structured, it also got a hole (for a time/date LED) in it. No
problem for the MACO film :-)
