Maco with perforated pressure plate

Distressing news for myself.  I cannot use my beloved Pentax ZX5 for Kodak 
HIE because it has the same perforated pressure plate as the K1000.  I would 
have thought that Pentax would have changed their design over the years, 
but...

Does anyone know if the Maco film has the same effects of using a dimpled or 
perforated pressure plate as HIE?
