Keith,

You'll have no problems with Konica and dimpled pressure plates as 
Konica has an anti-halation backing to the film.

HIE on the other hand does not have an ant-halation backing and 
infrared light is reflected back from the pressure plate. This is one 
of the causes of the "halo effect". Try out HIE with a dimpled 
pressure plate and look in areas of constant tone on the negs or the 
print  - you'll see the dimples :-)

The simple expedient of wrapping 120 backing paper around the 
pressure plate, black side towards the lens, will stop the problem. 
Some people advocate the use of black self adhesive plastic as a 
longer term solution.
