Depends a bit on how much snow and/or ripe you see in your
territory....;-))....you might want to check my personal Photo-Gallery, 90%
of the images are a sublimation (pun intended, you'll see why) of IR,
winter and panorama/fisheye:

I personally prefer winter over summer for shooting IR, but that
preference is based on more than just image-quality....fiddling in a
darkload bag several times a day is heaps more comfortable in a dry
-10C than in a humid +30C, and carrying 15kg of photogear all day
requires much less sweating in -10C vs +30C too....and given a
backpack, the easiest activity to travel many kilometers pro day is
skiing....only with strong legs of course....:))

Seems as if most official Kodak labs use IR-sensors, hence you'll
have to find a pro-lab that knows how to switch them off, or doesn't
use these IR-sensors at all....
