Maco 4x5 experience + question
Hi,
I ordered some boxes of 4x5 sheets en 120-rolls IR-film from Maco. I did my
first test while travelling and shot about 10 sheets in Jordan. The results
are however disappointing, and I am looking why. Here are the details on the
followed procedure:
- I used the 87-filter from Lee (transmitting begins above 730 nanometers),
- I rated the film at ISO 12;
- Equipment: Tachihara field camera with Schneinder Super Angulon 90 mm (f8)
- development: ID11 1+0 20° 10 min
I have the impression that most of the negatives are underexposed by two
stops.
Some questions:
- can the underexposure be explained by the difference of a Kodak 89b filter
(680 nm) and the Lee filter (730 nm)??
- what are the reciprocity values for the MACO IR-film?? Most of the
exposure times were more than several seconds...
I have had quite positive results with the Kodak HIE (4x5), which could be
rated at ISO100!
Thanks in advance...
