I have used the Nikon 990 and 950 with the B&W 403 to try to shot UV
photos of flowers. These pictures were taken outside in the sun. The
images looked just like my IR images. The problem is that the filter also
allows IR light to pass and the 950 is very sensitive to the IR. My
cameras have the internal IR blocking filters removed so that may have
some effect. Another problem is that the front lense on the camera is a
fairly good UV blocking filter. It might not hurt to replace this filter
before trying UV. In a studio/lab where the IR light is blocked and UV
provided, it might give better results. Overall the experiment didn't
work.
