If memory serves, it took Kodak about 6-10 months
before the current Aerochrome
II 2443 was made available in 35mm 36 exposure
canisters. Perhaps they'll do
the same with this new color infrared film
VERY LIKELY. MY MEMORY RECALLS ABOUT ONE YEAR BEFORE
THE CURRENT CIR WAS AVAILABLE IN 35MM FORMAT AFTER IT
WAS INTRODUCED IN 70MM FORMAT.
If you need CIR transparencies, process this film in
AR-5; if you
want CIR negatives, you process it in C-41. Pretty
nifty.
I WOULD ALSO BET THAT IT CAN BE PROCESSED IN E-6
CHEMICALS LIKE THE CURRENT VERSION WITH GOOD RESULTS.
IT IS INTERESTESTING TO NOTE THAT THE CURRENT 35MM AND
70MM VERSIONS OF COLOR INFRARED FILM HAVE THE SAME
EMULSIONS, BUT THE 70MM FORMAT FILM INSTRUCTIONS DO
NOT EVEN MENTION THAT IT CAN BE DEVELOPED IN E6
CHEMISTRY.

>used an 87 filter with EIR?
YES, YOU GET RED AND BLACK SLIDES. USE AN EI OF ABOUT
50. THE RESULTING IMAGES ARE NASTY LOOKING.
Does anyone here know the diameter of a 150' roll of
35mm HIE. I want
to know before I purchase a roll and find out that it
will not fit into
my bulk loader!
IT FITS IN A ALDEN BULK LOADER NO PROBLEM.
I wonder what the minilabs would do with color IR negs
when the auto color balance tries to correct?
I do like the idea of color IR negs.
I HAVE CROSS PROCESSED THE CURRENT VERSION OF COLOR
INFRARED FILM AND HAD A LOCAL DRUG STORE PRINT THE
IMAGES UP. THEY CAME OUT FINE. AUTO COLOR BALANCE
SENSORS DO NOT TRY TO TURN THE RED VEGETATION BACK TO
GREEN. THEY ARE NOT THAT SMART. YOUR PICTURES WILL
COME OUT FINE, I RECOMMEND SANDWICHING THEM WITH AN
ORANGE BLANK NEGATIVE TO REDUCE CONTRAST.
PEACE, ROLLAND
