[MF3D.FORUM:108] Repair advice

Hi all,
As some of you know my long term project,
the Stereo Ricohmatic 225, worked for 5 shots
before the shutter jammed. Apparently from
residual dremel dust from Sam's modifications.
Sam gave the shutter another cleaning but
wasn't able to fix the problem. Sam isn't and has
never claimed to be a repairman so now I think
I'll have to send the camera or shutter off
to get repaired (CLA'd?).
Does anyone know a "stero-friendly" repairman
who could fix my slightly modified Seikosha
leaf shutter? I do have a parts shutter that
could be used to provide any needed parts.
One minor complication is that Sam removed
the spring (I think) that holds the shutter
blades closed when you cock the shutter. A
spring to perform this function is present
on the linkage between the two shutters. But
that means if you operate the master shutter
by itself the blades pop open when you cock
it. Thus a repairman can't do any shutter
speed measurements on the shutter by itself.
But if I send them the whole camera they
aren't likely to want to play around with
the linkage etc. Unless it really is a
stereo-friendly repair guy.
I have been thinking of sending the shutter
to Essex Camera in NY since they are reportly
good, with old cameras especially, and their
web pages shows Ricohmatic 225's as one of the
camera they do CLA's on.
Any ideas? Eric? Anyone?
Thanks - Greg E.
BTW I have one of the 5 SR225 shots up on
my web page. A photo of Emily and Beth
