I don't think the distance from the target is significant,
but the size (on film) of the grid is.  If your grid was
55mm on film and the size difference was .15mm, I would
interpret that as about 0.27% difference (.15/.55*100).
But I've never done this test before, so that's just a
guess.  :-)

I noticed in some old list messages today that John B. and
Greg E. have also discussed the necessity of comparing the
distortion effects of the lenses, in addition to the focal
lengths.  For example, do the pincushion/barrel distortions,
if any, appear to be about the same?
