Some time back, CULLMAN put out a boxed kit of tripods for the 
landscape photographer. Each item weighed very little indeed and 
by changing the units you could have a tripod for any situation.
One would clamp to a fence or tree, one would screw into wood, 
another into the ground. There was one for any situation. I don't 
know if they are still available for sale, but mine have stood me in 
good stead for over 10 years and are generally the only form of 
tripod that I will carry with me. With the one exception of a mid '30s 
tubular extending tripod which is also almost weightless and 
extends to over five and a half feet.
