I am planning to write a book on the Sputnik this fall, and my research so
far indicates an amazing amount of variation.  There are two different
viewfinders, three different cases, three different name tags, two
different logos, only some have grounded tripod sockets, only some have
flash connections.  Some don't even have serial numbers.

I will put up a web site soon where Sputnik owners can add their camera to
the database.  I have 15 so far.

(The book will also tell the LOMO factory story, have complete disassembly,
focussing, and lubrication instructions, and a section on solving flaws.  I
will base it on my own experience, along with a small collection of Russian
language books and manuscripts.)

I get good results myself, but I've never shot anything except F22 or F16.
