Try this: close up the back then focus to the
minimum distance then to infinity. Then open it
up and see if the film plane is level.
AFAIK the focusing cams move the film plane out
(away from the lenses) and the pressure plate springs
push it back in. (I'm not 100% sure though).
If your floating film plane is too tight or
sticking then it won't push back in.

No it shouldn't. But you may still want to do
a test shot or two with the lenses wide open
(infinity) and if you get your rangefinder adjusted
take a wide open shot at a near distance.
