Re: Sputnik lens swap
Greg, I can't see any difference between the Lubitel 2 and the 166. So if
they exist, they have to be internal. I missed the Lubitel 166 deal and
had to buy mine from Russia, but it was still only $60 including post.
Will try and come up with the real differences-- somewhere I have
photocopies from the Lubitel section of a Russian camera repair manual.
One of the lens arrays in the Sputnik was fine, but one was definitely no
good. The left front element of the Spud didn't even have optical coating
(which was plainly visible on the right lens). The Lubitel 2 had coated
lenses.
