I have a couple of ideas:

Do your projectors have polarizers? You may have to add them.

Perhaps you could just take the optical and mechanical parts out of the
case that you would otherwise have to hack up. Mount them in a new,
simple
rectangular case with a powerful blower if you think it needs it. The
"transport" could be a simple slot ala MF viewers. You may have to work
out some darkslide, slide changing procedure so you don't blind the 
audience between slides. You would still have to solve the interlens
registration problems (up, down, left, right).
