Yes, it's finally been pounded into my head.  :)  I keep hoping for a
simple camera setup that won't require transposing the left and right
images.  As soon as I figure out a method that works I'll get to work
on that changing lead to gold problem.

Seriously, I have seen pictures of a sliding contact printer that
would let you print half of a glass stereo plate, slide the plate and
then print the other half.  It looks like too much trouble to try and
figure out a similar system for flexible film.
