I doubt any of us can remotely predict the amount of background skylight 
your site has - it is terrible here near Dallas, could be quite low; the 
good news is you have a few nights to take a trial roll and see where the 
background light becomes a problem, about the only way to be sure IMHO

most folks doing meteor work use ASA 400 film (or faster, or push 400 ASA)
if you use slower film, you may get marginal results from the majority of
short ones, esp. with wider angle lens use.
