Re: Horizon 202

Hi -
I just obtained a Horizon 202. What a thoroughly cool camera. Unfortunately,
I didn't receive an instruction manual. I was wondering if anyone on this
list could answer a few questions:
- What is the depth of field for the various apertures (researching deja news
gave me info that F/8.0 gives 2 meters ~ infinity and that F/16 gives 1 meter
to infinity - are these even close?)? Anybody care to share the entire depth
of field information?
- Does image quality suffer at F/16?
- How in the hell do you get a filter onto the lens (my fingers are adequate
for playing piano but don't seem to be nimble enough to apply the filters for
this camera)? If I was to be lucky enough to get the filter on is there a tip
for getting it off? Any tips?
- I was shooting with the Horizon this afternoon using a locking cable
release. I didn't notice that the cable release was locked and began winding.
It may be interesting to users that the camera can't be wound with the shutter
release still "plunged" this way. I unlocked the release and it wound on and
cocked the shutter in the normal way. I first thought I had found a way to do
a multiple exposure but no dice without the cocked shutter.
- Can anyone tell me the best way to scan negatives/slides from a Horizon? I
know it is probably fairly easy to scan both "halves" with a filmstrip scanner
and "stich", but since no standard slides will work with these negatives,
would you be better off using a high end flatbed (such as an Agfa Duoscan or
Arcus II)? How do some of you users get quality scanning of Horizon
negatives? Any other tips?
Thanks for any response you may give.
