I could never have put all the reasons more eloquently than Willem-Jan, but
I'll add one more reason. In his marvellous book "Brief Lives" the 17th
century writer John Aubrey says (and this may not be an exact quote)

"When a knowledgeable man dies, what a wealth of knowledge dies with him"

Now, I sincerely hope that Simon will be around for quite a few years yet,
but it's never too early to start leaving a legacy of knowledge, and as
Willem-Jan says, the web site is an ideal way to do it.

Another two cents from

Tony Andrews.
