In a message dated 99-02-26 21:04:34 EST, you write:

<< Actually light is not overrated; it is only those who don't work hard
enough
at learning how to work with it, or those who lack talent who would make
such an absurd statement. For those who feel that way: Stick to twiddling
with knobs and "virtual" life; the rest of us have photos to make. This is
not to say that light is only thing that "makes" a photograph; there is also
 composition, color, & gesture.-30-

before you judge someone why don't you probe that person's mind some before to
understand what he is really talking about? perhaps my wording "overrated" is
too strong, but it is important that i be udnerstood corretly. Even some
people haven't grasped yet what I mean by composition. May be I should call it
"framing". It is a certain way of interpreting reality.

With "overated light" I simply meant that some people think that only
"certain" kinds of light is good, and I say no, any kind of light, flat,
bright, early late, etc. can be fantastic. In that way light is totally
appreciated and rated with great appreciation.
