Flatbed scanners

I am scanning 6x17 transparencys on Microtek 4 using the lower special tranny
scanner, and am getting very good results. The scanner has a holder that will
scan 2 35mm that are 6 frames long. I cut off the dividers in one of the 2
strips and now gives me one of the strip holders that is 8 3/4" long so I can
scan my Roundshot 35 negs in this holder. The other still have the dividers
for the 6 neg strip. I am sure I can get another 3/8" long with a little work.
It holds the strips flat, and clear of any glass.

I have a friend in Arizona that scanned four 6x17 trannys for me on his UMAX
Power II than gave me 4 8.5MB and 4 60MB TIF files before I got the Microtek
4. (Russell Beach, CPP MPh of Cottenwood, Az - Susie@xxxxxxxxxx - ) He is
down in Florida right now at the Photoshop Professionals Convention, but will
be back next week.

As my friend Russ says, you can scan fro a quality flatbed scanner
