My point exactly!!!!!!
I got burned on my last scanner and I promised myself that it would 
NEVER happen again!
At 1200 X2400 over 8"X11", it is more than good enough for regular 
use. When I have a special image for publication or a client, THEN I 
will send it out for a drum scan at a pro shop ($30 to $50 in NYC 
plus $20 for a CD burn if needed).
Having the scanner at your site makes life a lot easier and more 
practical. For a bit over $1000. now everyone can have this hi end 
tool available.

I purchased the Umax Powerlook IIIse in Dec for $2700 ! UGH. I do 
like the
results and think it is one of the best on the market. It always 
amazes me to
see the drop in price of an item in just a few months but how long do 
you wait
to buy.
