Is that America? - or merely the United States? The rest of us can note
that the  new year really begins in Kiribati, a bunch of atolls kind of
nation which will probably not survive the new century, never mind the
millennium - the greenhouse effect will drown them long before (highest
point, 7 metres).
This list seems to have degenerated into touchy feely new age sludge -
can't someone get a decent fight going about when the new millenium really
starts or some such and restore its entertainment value.
