RE: Spams

Dear folks,
Since I control my own mail server, I just set the server to refuse mail
from the offending domain. It does not solve the issue however for the many
email lists. On other e-mail lists that I below to, they have gone to a
moderated format to filter out the Spam. There are other methods, but all
end up with human eyeballs filtering the content.
It was recently passed on to me that the worst thing that you can to do is
respond.
Even to the "remove" features. These are basically being used as "active
address" verifiers.
If you e-mail address is "active" indicated by your "remove" action the list
has more value for resale.
There are two bills before the US house and senate to force the "remove"
feature to be present and active. They have NOT passed yet. So when you see
the disclaimer on the bottom of current Spam, realize that it is only a con.

Is there any point - I assume that my off-list response to this idiot
concerning 'brain-whitening compounds' was probably ignored. Are there any
really destructive responses that involve wasting large amounts of their
time but almost none of mine - someone must have come up with satisfying
guerilla type anti-spam ideas! Re-routing spam to other spammers?
