Right now, 360 is alien to our eyes, perhaps because it is so new to most
folks.  Unless a panoramic print is of a landscape, the brain does have a
bit of work to do.  I often notice it as well.

The value of 360 shows up in things like QTVRs which only reveal a small
portion of an image at any time and corrects the visible portion back to a
more familiar rectilinear format.  Here, there is real value that a print
cannot exploit.
