Re Kodak Ektagraphic screens

I think we have a couple of these screens at work in the geography section.
This used to puzzle me as they have always been there as far as I know but
we have only relatively recently bought a Epson solitaire video projector
which does not use these screens . Recently however I have learned that the
old geography room was originaly the audio-visual department so I think
these were left behind when they moved . Presumably the curve of the screen
was to compensate for an equal and opposite distortion produced in the
video projector which would have had three curved screen cathode tubes.
When I tried projecting onto them with my Fed the curvature did produce
some distortion and out of focuss at the edjes. Also although bright it is
very directional and just going from a seated to standing position changes
the brightness considerably. P.J.Homer
