Re stereo dissolve projection

It has been suggested that dissolve could be done withe two rheostats
connected back to back so that as one turns up the other turns down. It
ought to be possible to do it with one as most of them can be connected up
in three places ie at either end of the track and on the wiper . Using
these the input on the wiper is split into two parrallel circuits and as
the wiper is rotated one will be increased while the other decreases ,at
mid position they will be equal. For stereo dissolves each will have to be
split again into two parrallel circuits or to keep the current down they
could be in series and the supply would be twice the actual bulb voltage.
