Re: eye relief TED GOSFIELD TDC Colorist!
TED...I have been nearsighted all my life...about 1954 I discovered
contact lenses which solved all my viewing problems in cameras,
telescopes, and microscopes. They all do not steam up over a kitchen
sink! So I have worn hard contacts for 41 years with few
perscriptions, mostly because I lost a lens and no optometrist will
suggest using the old prescription without re testing! Last year due
to a cataract in left eye I had a lens implant. Again my contacts came
to the rescue and they neutralize the astigmatism in the wavy cornea.
Of course I had to get a new prescription for the new "eye" and they
just "don't do one!" The contacts are 500% better than my new
prescription glasses (bifocals) for use if I don't put on contacts. So
I only wear the contacts and buy reading glasses at the drug store for
closeup work..including the right focal length for computer screen.
With contacts I have better vision than glasses and can see through
all my camera viewfinders!! I suppose soft lenses would work as well,
but do not
correct the cornea astigmatism I understand. BobH
