Edmund Sci. Mirror Mirage

          I've seen those devices around since the 70s. They are
          effective from CERTAIN viewing angles.

          If you want to see an actual one in action, try the places
          I've seen them at over the years:

          A magic/novelty shop

          An art museum/science center / "nature" shop

          A jewlry / pawn shop (where they've been use to display a
          valuable ring ABOVE the glass counter)

          They seem fun, but a little too costly for me.
