You could go to the Cable Car Barn which is the place that drives the
cable cars. It's also a museum and they have a few vintage stereo
viewers in the museum. Make sure to have a few quarters with you to
operate the viewers to enjoy views of the 1906 earthquake etc.
The Cable Car Barn is located at Washington and Mason and opens daily
at 10 a.m. At the Cable Car Barn shop, you can also buy a 3-day ticket
(which is valid for cable-cars, buses and the newly re-opened street-
cars in Market street) for an incredible low $15. A one week ticket is
$15. A real bargain - especially since I'm sure yo want to take the
cable cars (my absolute favorite means of transportation) more than once.
Single cable car tickets are $2, one day passes are available for $6.
Have a lot of fun in San Francisco!
