Chicago stereo camera club's international exhibition of Stereo Photography: Fo
rty nine years ago, when stereo photography was on everyone's mind, the Chicago
Lighthouse for the Blind sponsored a "Snow Ball", an annual fundraising event.
A feature of the intermission was an invitational exhibition of 3-D photograp
hy, where well known personalities, including Harold Lloyd and Myrtle Walgreen,
were invited to exhbit. Our of this "Snow Ball" grew the Chicago Stereo Camer
a Club, which now has the distinction of hosting the world's oldest annual exhi
bition of stereo photography, along with being the longest continuing contribut
or to the Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind.
If you shoot stereo slides (1 5/8" X 4", up t and including 7 sprocket,
i.e. Realist format), then the Chicago Stereo Camera Club invites you to enter
this wonderful competition. Even if you don't think your slides are good enoug
ht to enter, the judges may like them anyways! We need as many slides entered
as possible because 1) the more slides entered, the larger the show (about 40%
are picked for the show, with a maximun of about 200); 2) the more slides ente
red, the larger the variety of slides that we can show at our public showings;
3)since all admission fees to our shows are for the Chicago Lighthouse, you wil
l be indirectly contributing to one of the finest facilities devoted to the dev
elopment of the visually impaired.
Closing date for entires is March 13, 1996. Judges are Mary Ann Rhoda, FPSA, D
onald Hindman, FPSA, both well known PSA members and Paul Baker a very
talented member of Chicago Stereo Camera Club. If you need an entry from, leav
e an e-mail to me with your name and address (snail-mail) at 74226.607@xxxxxxxx
74226.607@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx The entry fee is $5(with an option for you to donate
an additional amount, if you desire, the the Chicago Lighthouse.
Show dates are the first week in May. Locations will be announced later. The a
ccepted slides will be narrated, with a musical background.
