Expo2

I'm glad to see a new round in the works. Thank you, Joel. As far as
rules go, whatever works is fine with me. I'll be sending my three slides
and a stereo snapshot. I've seen two deadline suggestions. Has it been
officially decided whether it's the middle or the end of February?

My key concern is with the "audit" status. I highly advise against it.
People who send in entries have something invested, and a built in motive
to handle things with care, and deal with the Expo in a timely manner.
Also, as others have mentioned, people in an audit status slow it down.
My call-- if you want to see it, be a part of it. If Joel wants to retain
audit, I'd suggest charging something substantial, at least $25, up
front, and use this money to help defray trans-Atlantic/Pacific shipping
costs. Because air transport is so expensive, the mechanisms for covering
the costs, e.g. who's responsible for the $$, needs to be locked down. As
a group, we can come up with at least a subsidy without stinging any
individual for the big bucks. If the trans-ocean shipping can't be nailed
down, this option becomes problematic. Surface shipping would probably
add more delay than people would like.

Again, since we're still gathering input, bag the audit status.

And as far as categories, I don't think they're all that important. The
benefit of the distinctions turned out to be of purely psychological in
Expo1.
