In a message dated 96-01-06 19:29:02 EST, you write:

>From working on several super rare reels I can tell you, that a new owner
will have no problem telling if a reel has been repaired. The repair is a
repair at best the condition will never be as good as an original glue job. A
glued reel loses much of the original stiffness, and sofar I have not found a
better way. For the amount of work involved it is not worth the effort unless
it is a rare reel. Also I agree 100% that if the reel is sold the buyer
should be told and not left to find out for themselves. However I like most
people only work on reels I will most likley never see again, so there is not
a question of value involved.
