A glimpse of the near future
Consumer Electronics Show rolls out consumer gizmos

From Correspondent Dennis Michael
LAS VEGAS, Nevada (CNN) -- Many of the developers of tomorrow's
hottest gadgets descended on this desert city to showcase their
latest offerings at the annual Consumer Electronics Show.
Infinity Multimedia introduced a 3-D television which gives viewers
the depth and doesn't require any special goggles. The new concept was
made possible thanks to a new development called a time multiplexing
parallax system. Infinity plans to begin introducing the system in
about a year.
"The first phase will be bringing it to the arcade, or location-based
entertainment centers, as a video game unit. And after that, we'll go
to the home market," said Infinity's Brian Ton.

OK - so what the heck is a "time multiplexing parallax system?"
That's a bunch of $5 words that just rolls off your tongue, eh? These
advertising guys are a hoot. I guess this just won out over "temporal
phase-shift coax symmetric-axis ocular vivisection."
I think I saw something like this recently in Popular Science, but I
don't know if it is the same company.
Has anyone seen this actual set? Is it any good?
What will it co$t?
