I wouldn't spend any extra money on a Loreo just to get fuzzier pictures than
the Nishika (yes I have tried the Loreo and have never been satisfied with
the results). The Nishika is quite good at print quality, and can easily be
used as a conventional stereo camera by blocking off the inner two lenses
with electrical tape, if you wish. You don't have to block any lenses if you
get your prints done at Grand Photo as they choose the best two of the four
relative to your near subject distance. If you get prints done locally then
blocking the inner two lenses saves you money on extra prints.
For fun, block the outer two lenses and place a +1 closeup lens big enough
in diameter to cover the inner two lenses, and take a picture of something
using your very outstretched arm as a distance estimater. I tried this with
the Rittai cheapo camera and it worked well. There is minor parallax error
with the closeup so raise the camera a tad when taking the picture.
Of course, for the same money as a Loreo you can get a real Wirgin stereo
camera ;-)
