What I did was take an old cheap flash that I had lying around. I then
milled a grove down the middle of the flash "foot" using my Dremel tool. A
Dremel tool, if you don't know, is a small, hand held motor tool that accepts
many different kinds of rotating bits. The tricky part is that you also have
mill the grove right through the spring loaded ball contact on the flash.
When you do this, the flash will slide into the hotshoe on the Revere, and
the now somewhat concave contact on the flash will mate with the protruding
contact on the camera. The bottom of the flash is not a pretty sight, but
the flash does mount firmly on the camera, and I have never had a misfire. I
have heard people on this list talk about cutting the protruding contact away
on the camera, but I couldn't bare to do that to my beautiful Revere! :-)
