Bad 3D vs Good 2D

At least with 3D, even if the alignment of the shot results in bad 3D, as long as the exposure, subject and composition are good you now have 2 good 2D shots. I have used my twin rig on occasion to capture two shots of the same scene strictly for 2D purposes so I have two originals; also to do bracketing of the same shot. When things happen fast there is no time to bracket. Is there is no end to the ways we can find to shell out money on film and processing?.
