What type of lubricant for slide projector?

I have a Nord stereo projector.  The slide carrier is in need of lubrication, 
but I'm really not sure what to use.  I appears that maybe some  type of 
graphite grease was used originally, but  I'm not sure.  Anybody know what to 
use?  I would hate to mess anything up.
