I suspect that you have a broken clutch spring. There is a pawl that
pushes the clutch spring's end so as to unwind the spring slightly
during the film advance, thus freeing the axle of the takeup spool
so it will turn. If the spring is broken, the pawl can't loosen the
spring's grip on the axle, and the winding is very rough, or even
impossible. Ron Zakowski has extra springs, or you can send the
