Ansel Adams

In a message dated 96-01-30 14:09:18 EST, you write:

>Even a photographer like Ansil (sic) Adams who,

On "Ansel Adams...was really doing a whole lot more": Let us remember, A. A.
used several techniques in the lab, as well as on the scene, to achieve the
particular look he wanted. His artistry and control was not confined to the
camera work. Color would actually ruin many of the effects which began with
colored filters and altered exposure on b&w film. No time for deep
explanations here, but one would be hardpressed to make a tree stand out
starkly from so black a sky using color film.
