unit. Very simple to use, and very slow.

I too have/use a Snappy, and am thrilled with the quality I can
get using my Sony Hi8 camcorder, setting the snappy up to it's
maximum resolution. It is the ONLY way that it produces truly
GOOD images, and they CAN be spectacular. (depending on the
camera, lighting, etc...)

However, speed is a problem... I am using a 486/100, and that
"snap" I described above, can take as much as 4 to 5 minutes to
process... Then I have a HUGE file to manipulate in another
program before I can call it done. The whole process can take 10
to 15 minutes or more for only one "snap". But, since I paid
less that $200 for it, I am very satisfied with the output.

The company (Play) that makes the Snappy has a Web site
[http://www.play.com], and they have links to other sites that
have also used the Snappy to make their images. Take a look if
you haven't already, they show some good stuff. One note of
caution though... Don't get the fix file they offer unless you
are having the problem it was designed to fix. I took it and it
crippled my system. Only recourse was to delete the program and
reinstall...

(Another note about using the snappy... It seems to help to use
the video output to judge the picture you are scanning, because
the little screen they give you has so little detail...)
