Century '87 VM-set

Dear fellow 3D-listmembers,

We recently came across a very interesting commercial View-Master set. In 
europe every year another important city is nominated 'Cultural capital of 
Europe'. During this year several important art, music etc. exhibitions and 
festivals will take place in this city.

In 1987 Amsterdam (capital of The Netherlands) was Cultural Capital of 
Europe. One of the special events was an exhibition of modern works of art, 
placed in the surroundings of the old Amsterdam scenery.This special event 
took place from aug 7-sept 14. The catalogue for the exhibiton was a special 
View-Master set. It was called 'Modern Art face to face with Amsterdam's 
past, 3D catalogue'. It was only for sale during this exhibition.

The set contains a Model 10 viewer (the standard European viewer) in red, in 
a unique blister hangpackage with neat graphics; the viewer has the first 
reel inside; and a supplementary blister pack (with the same graphics) with 
reels 2-5. All the pictures where especially taken and illustrate the 
statues, paintings etc etc in their temporary Old Amsterdam surroundings.

By change we met one of the organizers of the exhibition and he had a few of 
the original sets for us. They are in MNO condition. A total of 2000 sets 
were made. Most were sold during the exhibition. A few remain 
intact.........and we have some for you.
