projector questions

I have the opportunity to buy a projector, so I have some questions.

It's a TDC 716A.  It has 750 watt bulbs, 5" lenses and both the single slide
carrier as well as the slide tray 'Selectron' changer.  It looks to be in
very clean condition.

So, is this a decent projector, or should I look for something different?

What details of this unit should I look at?  Obvious ones are the condition
of the optical and mechanical parts.  What else?

The 5" lenses produce a fairly small image in my living room.  Were the units
produced with shorter lenses and are lenses ever available, or are they only
available on another projector?

Will it handle anything other than Realist format, and if so, how?

The fan sometimes makes something like a 'growling' noise, which I assume is
a vibration or bearing problem of some kind.  Any ideas?

One set of condenser lenses looks to held in by a set of removable pins.  What
was this for?
