Since Image Tech stopped providing processing service without notice to 4
lens camera customers in December (leaving me with something like 16 rolls
of holiday snapshots and no way to get them printed), I've been trying to
find an alternative source of processing for my Nimslo pictures.
My experience at Ritz so far has been unsatisfactory. I was encouraged
because when I dropped off a test roll, the manager of the local Ritz store
was not only knowledgeable about stereo photography in general, but also
about differences in 3 lens and 4 lens lenticular formats.
The prints were returned in a little over 3 weeks. The color balance was
extremely poor, the exposure was poor, the stereo effect was minimal, and
some of the returned prints weren't even mine.
The order was reprinted, and it returned last night. This time, the color
balance and exposure were good, but the stereo effect was minimal. In
addition, they only used two of the four images in each negative group. I
have yet to speak to anyone at Ritz headquarters in Maryland to find out if
this is intentional.
So far, I am not encouraged by the results I've gotten from Ritz.
